The village lies in southern Luberon between the small and large Luberon in a green valley. There is a clock tower and a bell tower. In addition to the picturesque village, Lourmarin still owns a castle. This is supported by the Academy of Arts and Sciences. At the cemetery in Lourmarin there is the tomb of the French writer Albert Camus, who had purchased a house in the town 1958.
